The Unreasonable Fellowship, a program of A Day of Unreasonable Conversation, aims to bring together select TV writers with social impact practitioners, funders and issue area experts to grapple with and explore compelling narratives that challenge media portrayals of important social issues and inspire meaningful change.

In partnership with philanthropic organization Quadrivium, we proudly announce the focus of our first cohort: climate change. More specifically, this cohort will focus on how to usher in an era of storytelling that departs from dystopian climate change narratives in favor of ones that inspire realistic solutions and brighter futures. Programming and Facilitation for the Fellowship is creative directed by partner agency Invisible Hand.

Note: this fellowship was designed with input from the WGA to be in line with all strike guidelines.

Responsibilities of Unreasonable Fellows
Attend six facilitated meals with other fellows and experts/leaders from the field between October 2023-February 2024 in Los Angeles, where you will be expected to learn together and constructively contribute to a collective understanding about how to leverage storytelling and television storytellers to advance this narrative.

Contribute programming ideas for (and attend) A Day of Unreasonable Conversation on March 25, 2024 in Los Angeles.

Organize and host (within budget provided below) your own gathering for 15-20 peers in the television industry who are interested in learning more about this topic.

Benefits to Unreasonable Fellows

Recognizing the profound impact of storytelling and social change, the fellowship will award 10-12 Fellows a stipend of $7,500/each for their time.

Each Fellow will also receive up to $1,500 to cover costs of hosting an event for peers to explore the topic further.
